Are there any side effects, or anything that the body reacts to?

We are asking the innate, the body's own healing wisdom, and nothing happens if the practitioner picks the wrong link – the body always wants to heal itself in the fastest, most effective way, so it will choose the most appropriate links. Sometimes people experience a feeling of tiredness after a session while their body undergoes the healing process. Sometimes while they are clearing out old emotions they may experience loose bowels.

Can the BodyTalk practitioner tell me about my supplements and medications?

BodyTalk does not diagnose or prescribe anything. If your BodyTalk practitioner is qualified in another modality that prescribes those things, they may do so.

Can the BodyTalk practitioner get it wrong?

Yes they can, and this happens sometimes. But the good news is if the practitioner taps out those things that have been highlighted and they are the incorrect sequence, the new configuration will not be updated and no harm will be done.

Does BodyTalk only work if you believe it works?

No. With BodyTalk we are working with the body's own healing ability, which is different to the person's conscious mind. The body is constantly healing itself by using its own healing ability – it does not matter if we think it is or not.

Does it really work?

BodyTalk is a totally new paradigm for people. Yes it does work. It is scientifically known that healing resources are reduced in the body when we are in fight or flight mode. Because of everyday stresses in modern society, we are often in fight or flight mode, which compromises our body's ability to function.

Is BodyTalk recognised in medical fields?

BodyTalk is not officially recognised by the medical profession, but there are doctors that practice BodyTalk – doctors are beginning to recognise the validity. A lot of the theories behind BodyTalk are starting to be proven by top physicists and cellular biologists; for example Bruce Lipton. Twenty years ago people did not recognise acupuncture even though it has been around for thousands of years.

How do you test the body?

We use neuromuscular feedback. Neuromuscular feedback is a technique that was developed some years ago – it is a way of testing the person's body to find out what they need. When the practitioner is doing neuromuscular feedback they are tapping into the client's inner wisdom – the part of the body that knows how to heal itself.

How long has BodyTalk been around?

15 years. It was developed by Dr John Veltheim in the mid 90s. He developed it from his background in chiropractic, acupuncture, kinesiology and other natural therapies.

What is innate wisdom?

The innate wisdom of the body is the part of us that knows how to heal itself. It's the part of the body that guides the function of individual body parts, synchronizes activity amongst the various parts and maintains balance in the bodymind.

What is the difference between BodyTalk and some other modalities?

  1. We are restoring communications between different parts of the body where communications have been compromised.
  2. Some other modalities require a lot of knowledge and understanding in order to do the diagnosis.
  3. BodyTalk is not diagnosis – we are asking the body what it wants. Some modalities can cause damage if the diagnosis is incorrect. At least with BodyTalk we either help or do nothing.
  4. Any one can do BodyTalk once they learn the procedure and protocol which takes 4–5 days.

What is the difference between BodyTalk and BodyTalk Access?

BodyTalk Access is five simple yet effective BodyTalk techniques that can be used by the layperson with friends and family. It takes one day to learn and 10 minutes to implement. BodyTalk Access is different to BodyTalk as muscle testing is not used to find out what the priority for balancing is, and only 5 of the many powerful techniques are utilized. However, BodyTalk Access has amazing results and is used for health maintenance and emergency situations.
